While the campus is temporarily closed, if you would like to speak directly with a counselor, please contact Sam Johnson or Tammy MacBrien Downs.
We're here to help you!
The NVCC Center for Academic Planning and Student Success (CAPSS) is committed to helping students achieve their goals. Student academic success and well-being are our primary motivations. Counselors are available to assist students for brief counseling sessions in overcoming personal matters and issues such as test anxiety, poor concentration, time management, relationships, stress management and disabilities.
One-on-one assistance is available for anyone who may benefit from speaking with a professionally trained counselor on a short-term basis. Counselors will conduct the necessary assessments to make sure students receive appropriate referrals if long-term counseling is necessary.
We are committed to services that are:
- oriented toward removing obstacles and building strengths so students can achieve full potential
- creative and promote a student’s well-being
safe and supportive
