POSITION:  Assistant Professor of Nursing, (10-Month, Tenure Track Position)

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE:  Janaury, 2020

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Health Sciences and Director of Nursing, the Assistant Professor of Nursing shall teach courses leading to an Associate’s degree in Nursing. The position requires on campus teaching and two clinical days per week equivalent to thirty credit hours per academic year (subject to collective bargaining). Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include days, evenings or weekends. Performance of other duties associated with teaching in a community college is expected such as academic advisement, special college projects, course and program development, and community service activities consistent with the College’s Mission. Participation in commencement ceremonies, convocation activities, and special college meetings is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s degree in Nursing, current CT R.N. license, and four years college teaching experience, or eight years work–related experience, or a combination of 2 years teaching experience and 4 years work-related experience.

Exceptions to the degree requirements may be made for compelling reasons. Applicants must also provide appropriate references.

MINIMUM SALARY: $65,963 annual approximate, plus excellent medical insurance, retirement and related fringe benefits.
