Developmental English Faculty, Open Rank

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director or other Administrator,  the Faculty member will be responsible for developmental English reading and writing instruction (English  composition and related courses may be included), and other classroom teaching assignments; related curriculum/course development, advisement of students and  service on departmental, division, and college committees.  Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

Instructor of Biology

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director, the Instructor will teach biology courses using a variety of delivery modes.  Applicants should be able to teach courses which focus on organismal biology and/or anatomy and physiology. The Instructor will integrate computer technology into curriculum and prepare laboratory activities as needed. The Instructor will also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills while exercising good judgment conducive to a collegial environment. In addition, the Instructor will assess student performance and may assume additional responsibilities including student advisement; committee work; participation in special college projects; development of new innovative instructional techniques, course offerings, or programs; and participate in community service consistent with the institutional mission. Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

Instructor of Mathematics

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director, the Instructor will teach all levels of mathematics from developmental through multi-variable Calculus, consistent with a strong mathematics background, using a variety of instructional techniques. The Instructor will incorporate web-based homework systems (e.g. MyMathLab, Web Assign, Hawkes Learning Systems) as needed.  The Instructor will integrate computer technology into curriculum and make real-world connections through appropriate activities. The Instructor will also utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills while exercising judgment and tact conducive to a collegial environment.  In addition, the Instructor will assess student performance and may assume additional responsibilities including student advisement; committee work; participation in special college projects; development of new innovative instructional techniques, course offerings, or programs; and participate in community service consistent with the institutional mission.  Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

Music Faculty, Open Rank

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director or other Administrator, the faculty member will teach a full load of Music courses per semester.  The incumbent will be responsible for music productions, band, choir, applied lesson programs, and other campus events.  The “Additional Responsibilities” for this position must entail oversight of the shared technical theater space.   Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

Sociology Faculty, Open Rank

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director or other Administrator, the Faculty member will be responsible for teaching a full load in the discipline and related areas.  Ability to teach, develop, and expand current offerings in Sociology.  The primary areas of interest are Criminology, Sociology of Gender, Marriage and The Family, Urban Society, Minorities in American Society, and Juvenile Delinquency.  Shall advise students enrolled in the discipline and work on other division’s programs.  Also perform other duties associated with teaching and the activities of the division.  Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

Hiring Information
