Under the direction of the PTA Program Director, the EA is responsible for assisting with the instruction in PTA laboratory classes, evaluating student performance, and assisting with the administration of the laboratory portion of the course. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The GEAR UP Waterbury Alliance is seeking applicants for Tutor/Mentor positions for the 2014-15 school year to work with 8th and 9th graders in Waterbury Public Schools. Applicants should be available 17 hours/week during the school year. Meetings with students will occur during and after school hours, as well as Saturdays. Weekly supervision will be provided to Tutor/Mentors. Previous work with urban youth is a plus, as is experience working with middle and high school aged students. Reliable transportation is required!
Teach the assigned course in accordance with the published catalog description or other approved syllabus; Preparation related to teaching including the development of an approved course outline and reading list unless these are provided by the college; Advisement of students enrolled in the course in the manner prescribed by the president or his/her designee; Distribute to each student in the course, during the first week of class course outline or overview information as to reading and attendance requirements and an indication of evaluative and grading mechanisms to be utilized, and provide copies of such to the designated college official; Maintenance of accurate records of students enrolled in the course; Compliance with all college policies, procedures, and regulations; Other duties, which are related to this appointment as required by the president or his/her designee or by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, as appropriate.

Master's Degree in nursing or related field, current CT R.N. license. College teaching experience and/or related work experience preferred.
