The Academic Affairs unit is dedicated to student success and strives to be student-centered in all its work while being responsive to the needs of faculty, staff, administrators and the community. In fulfilling its mission, Academic Affairs provides services and leadership to faculty, staff, and students in their roles as members of the NVCC community. Academic Affairs also promotes and ensures academic quality and encourages the efficient use of resources to achieve those ends.
Naugatuck Valley Community College is one of the most exciting and fastest growing colleges in Connecticut!
As you look through our degree and certificate programs and courses, you will find a wealth of opportunities for starting a new career or transferring to a four-year college or university.
You will also learn about programs that are unique to our College in the state of Connecticut, such as aviation science, dance, horticulture and digital arts.
You will be met on campus by instructors and professors who are focused on teaching and learning. There are no large introductory classes run by teaching assistants. The average class size is 28.
Outside of the classroom there are a number of student support areas including the Max R. Traurig Library/ Learning Resources Center, Academic Center for Excellence and the Women’s Center.
