Celebrating Community

Last Updated Oct 2012

The Foundation works with local non-profit organizations and businesses to share resources and find solutions for community-wide challenges. Together we address common goals that strengthen our communities and increase educational and career opportunities for all.

Feeding the hungry

For years, St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen was unable to open its doors on Sundays, leaving many families in our community hungry with nowhere to turn for a hot meal. Because of today’s declining economy, this number is rapidly increasing. With funding from Webster Bank and volunteer support from College staff, students, and faculty, St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen is now able to open and feed the hungry on Sundays.

"This program couldn't have come at a better time," said Paul Scampolino, the soup kitchen's food service director.

"With today's challenging economy, we expect our numbers, which are already the highest I've seen in nine years, will only go higher."

Advancing the Arts

Come to the College and see our Main Stage Theatre, home to award-winning performances by the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.

With seating for 750 audience members and free parking, the Fine Arts Center is a central venue for cultural performances, community events and industry workshops.
