Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness

About 

NVCC's Office of Institutional Research provides current and reliable information to support strategic and operational planning, policy formulation, decision-making assessment, and the measurement of the effectiveness of programmatic activities. Responsibilities include:
  • Compliance: Meeting the requirements for Federal government (IPEDS), Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education and college mandated reporting activities. 
  • Strategic Planning: Working with the campus community to develop relevant, quantifiable benchmarks and metrics for the purpose of strategic planning. Providing data to support plan and assess goals. 
  • Assessment: Supporting faculty and staff in assessment of student outcomes. Improving efficiency and effectiveness for both internal and external assessment efforts, through the use of data. 
  • Dissemination of information: Emphasizing data-based research to inform policy, planning and decision making. Supporting student success, enrollment and retention efforts, by providing relevant, readily accessible data to both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Data governance: Helping to develop practices and policies that support the effective, ethical use and stewardship of available data.


Our Mission

The Office of Institutional Research supports the goals, priorities, and values of Naugatuck Valley Community College, assisting our campus community to use data for decision-making, strategic planning, program development, and assessment.
