NVCC Alumnus, Dr. Robert Hartmann McNamara Inspires Students to Succeed in College

Associate Provost and Dean of The Citadel Graduate College Returns to His Alma Mater

Unassuming and down-to-earth is how one might describe Dr. Robert McNamara, a 1984 graduate of Mattatuck Community College, who was invited to speak with NVCC students on October 28, 2014 about his path to student success. In a written biography that he shared with students at the beginning of the event, he described himself as “an ordinary guy who was provided some extraordinary opportunities.” Dr. McNamara’s story is one of challenges, not unfamiliar to some students in the audience.

Late Start Classes

Last Updated Jan 2014

Late Start classes begin Wednesday, February 19.

Late Start classes are available in the fall and spring semesters for students who do not meet the application or registration deadlines of the general term. Late Start classes meet a few minutes longer than regular classes to make up for the time missed at the beginning of the semester.

New students

All new students must complete the application process and be accepted prior to registering for classes.

Late Start Details

Even though the Late Start classes begin 4 weeks later than the regular semester, students will still finish their classes at the same time as regularly scheduled classes.  By meeting slightly longer each week than a regular class the time missed in the beginning of the semester is made up by the end of the semester.
