2015 Graduation will be held at the Palace Theater, Waterbury CT.

All students signed up to participate in the ceremony must report at 12pm.

1,325 Awards Given Out to NVCC's Largest Commencement Class (Yes, again.)

Graduates of the Class of 2014 ranged in age from 17 to 71, and hailed from 10 states in total.

On May 29, 2014 at its 49th commencement, Naugatuck Valley Community College celebrated, for the fifth year in a row, the largest graduating class in the history of the College. The total number of awards conferred is 1,325.

NVCC Fulbright Scholar Presents Caribbean Story Project

The multi-media presentation shows the interdisciplinary link of art and education to social and environmental projects.

Naugatuck Valley Community College’s 2013-14 Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Oonya Kempadoo, presented her collaborative story approach to ecological sustainability as her “gift” to the College on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Playbox Theater. The project includes an interactive website that offers a multitude of ways for readers to engage with Kempadoo’s story “Naniki”, which in the indigenous Taino language means “to be active” or “spirit”. Based on this concept, the story has integrated interdisciplinary elements to link art and education to social and environmental concerns.

Julia de Burgos Centennial Celebration & Symposium Set, Oct. 15

Naugatuck Valley Community College, the Dominican Studies Association, the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, the Office of Community Relations of Hostos Community College and the Latino Artist Round Table invite proposals for papers to be read at an October 15 symposium to mark the centenary of Julia de Burgos (1914-1953), arguably one of the greatest poets native of Puerto Rico. The symposium will lead off Hispanic Heritage Month events at NVCC in 2014.
