Sustainable, Edible Crops Sale May 5-9

Student-grown crops are result of semester-long sustainable production practices

Students in Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Horticulture Program have spent the last semester cultivating ornamental and edible crops that they’ll now sell from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.,  May 5-9 in the Technology Hall Greenhouse, 750 Chase Parkway.  The spring bedding plants fill the greenhouse this time of year and are the outcome of sustainable production practices in the horticulture classes.

13 Women Are Recognized for Their Academic Achievement in the Face of Adversity

At a high tea ceremony held Thurs., March 6, 2014, members of the campus community gathered together to honor the extraordinary lives and achievements of 13 outstanding female NVCC students. The awardees were nominated by faculty and staff whose lives have been inspired by their students’ strength, patience, commitment and endurance to persist both personally and academically.
