Re-admit Steps for Degree/Certificate Returning Students

Welcome Back to NVCC! 

Who is a returning student?
A returning student is someone who has attended NVCC in the past, but has not registered for class(es) for at least the past 4 semesters (Fall/Spring terms).   

As a degree/certificate seeking student, you will:

  • Choose a degree or certificate program
  • Be a part or full-time student
  • Be eligible to apply for financial aid

Your readmit form and supporting documents may be faxed to the Office of the Registrar at 203-575-8085, or scanned and emailed to records@nv.edu.

Concerned about paying for college? All degree-seeking students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. While not everyone will qualify for assistance, a student should never assume he or she is ineligible without applying first. Apply for financial aid each academic year that you wish to be considered.

The FAFSA is now available as early as October 1 for the following academic year--NVCC's federal school code is 006982

One of the most important tips for getting started is to apply for financial aid early.

IMPORTANT: All personal and contact information entered into the college application and FAFSA application must be exactly the same. If abbreviations are used they must be entered identically in both applications (examples: address abbreviations like St. or Ave., full name including Jr).

The Office of Registrar will contact you once your re-admit form has been processed and you are ready to meet with an advisor to choose the course(s) that best fit your goals.  The Office of Registrar's will also notify you if you need take a placement test.

Please note: Meeting with an advisor is not mandatory for returning students, but highly recommended.

Payment options include cash, check and credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express).

An Installment Payment Plan is also available.

If you've received a financial aid award, you may not have to make a payment; please discuss payment responsibilities with financial aid staff.
