Security Officer positions are available in many businesses such as security agencies, retail, hospitals, banks, housing complexes and construction.
Public Act #04-192 (updated in Public Act #08-73) mandates that all state of Connecticut security officers complete an 8-hour training course for certification. Successful completion of this course will insure that the security officer is certified and eligible for security employment.
Our "Security Officer Certification" course satisfies the classroom training requirements for the state of Connecticut Security Officer Identification Card.
In just eight hours you will learn some of the most important information to a successful career as a Security Officer. Your experienced instructor is certified by the State of Connecticut to conduct this important training. An overview of private security, basic first aid, public safety issues, search and seizure, use of force and basic criminal justice will be covered. The course includes lectures, small group discussion and simulated experiences.
Participants are required to complete a written exam with a minimum passing score of 75%. Upon successful completion students will be issued a Security Officer Identification Card from the state of Connecticut.
Short breaks are included in the schedule but bringing a lunch is recommended. Vending machines may be available with a limited selection of beverages and snack items.
