Ideal for

Whether you are a Jet-Ski jockey, plan to pilot a 65-ft. yacht, or want to operate any other recreational motorized vessel (or a sailboat over 19.5 ft. powered by sail alone) in our state waters, you need a Connecticut Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation.

At NVCC, we offer two convenient ways for you to get your certificate. Choose from:

  • a one-day Saturday course instructed by Professional Marine Services
  • 4-session weeknight option instructed by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) volunteers.

Program Overview

Our courses fulfill the requirements for the Connecticut Safe Boating/Personal Watercraft Certificate. Successful completion will allow the student to obtain a Connecticut Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, which enable them to operate recreational vessels up to 65 feet in length including Jet Skis. Course fee doesn't not include the one-time lifetime license fee. Prior to taking a boating class, each student must obtain a conservation number. See instruction under important information tab. Students should bring a pen or pencil to class.

Course Locations

Conveniently offered at our Waterbury campus.

Course Schedule

Last courses offered in September. Next offerings coming Spring '18
