Legal studies will provide you with an exciting background and the required knowledge to engage and work with contemporary events, public policy and a wide range of professional issues and social problems.If you are interested in learning about law, you will not find a stronger program than the one available at our campus. Prepare for the exciting career as a paralegal and other legal careers. At NVCC, you can choose from a wide variety of courses that will help develop your skills and professional experience.Similar to the medical field (Physicians and Physician Assistants), Attorneys and the legal field have embraced the profession of Paralegals. In fact, paralegals — also called legal assistants — are continuing to assume new responsibilities in legal offices and perform many of the same tasks as lawyers.

Earn a degree

  • Career-oriented students are prepared for beginning positions in the law field as paralegals.
  • Students may transfer to the four-year school of their choice to pursue a bachelor's degree and eventually to go onto applying for law school programs.

Earn a certificate 

Legal Studies/Paralegal certificate program is available to students who do not wish to pursue a full two-year course of study.The certificate program is designed to develop and enhance the skills and understanding needed to fill responsible positions in banks, insurance companies, real estate companies, private law offices, corporate law offices, and local, state and federal government legal departments.
