Alex Achlioptas ’17 didn’t take the most direct route to success, but things have worked out quite well. The Naugatuck Valley Community College nursing student did the opposite of what most students do. He began his higher education at Quinnipiac and Southern Connecticut State Universities before enrolling at NVCC.
Ninety-four members of Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Nursing Class of 2015 received their pins during the College’s 41st Annual Pinning Ceremony held on May 20 at NVCC’s Mainstage Theater.
Naugatuck Valley Community College Class of 2015 Nursing students donated 20 fleece blankets to the neonatal intensive care units at St. Mary’s Hospital and Waterbury Hospital in May. A bake sale was organized to raise money for the materials for the blankets and the students met over the spring semester to get to work making them.
The NVCC Nursing Program was represented by five students at the 62nd Annual Convention of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). The students participated in the event’s Project Showcase, at which members and faculty display posters representing their projects and research.
