For more than 5 years, the Danbury has broadened the reach of Naugatuck Valley Community College and allowed students to earn credit without traveling into Waterbury. More importantly, the college branch has continuously expanded throughout its existence, with over 1100 students taking courses there this fall.
On August 17th, NVCC’s Digital Arts Technology club visited historic downtown Danbury to shoot a marketing video for the Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterion, which helps promote women’s youth cycling.
NVCC students showed off their creativity at a Fresh Ink Open Mic and Art Show at Martin's in downtown Danbury this May. The event was the first of it's kind in the City, and the first of many cultural events to come as the College looks to increase it's intellectual presence in the community. Approximately 60 guests attended throughout the course of the night to hear students read their works and explain their various art pieces.
College will offer full instructional and administrative support in both Waterbury, Danbury
After years of growth in the city, Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Danbury Center is finally being recognized as a campus by its accrediting body, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Henceforth, the College’s Danbury location will be known as the NVCC Danbury Campus.
Beginning July 29, students can receive accelerated instruction through a Patient Care Technicians course, preparing them for job readiness in 19 weeks.
On Monday June 24, Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) and Danbury community leaders met to discuss ways of strengthening area businesses through higher education.
Danbury students are invited to attend Naugatuck Valley Community College’s Express Registration on Saturday, January 8 from 8 am to 3 pm at Danbury Center, 183 Main Street.
Textbooks will also be available for purchase from 9 am – 2 pm. The spring academic semester begins on Friday, January 21.
