On Friday, April 11, 2014, 17 NVCC students and two NVCC administrators were inducted into the Connecticut College of Technology’s chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau, Gamma Phi.
Epsilon Pi Tau recognizes academic excellence of students in fields devoted to the study of technology and the preparation of practitioners for the technology professions. Epsilon Pi Tau also extends the honor of membership and advancement activities to outstanding practitioners in the technology professions, scholars with exemplary research interests in technology in society and/or persons who have significantly supported or advanced technology professions.

Dr. Peter Angelastro is the Academic Division Director of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). He earned his B.A. in Biochemistry from Ithaca College in 2001 and his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from Yale University in 2009. In addition to his duties as STEM director, Dr. Angelastro is the NVCC site coordinator for the CT College of Technology programs and the CT Space Grant Consortium. He also supervises and oversees curriculum development for the NVCC Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center.
Joseph DeFeo is the director of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC). With 35 years of industry experience, he has held management positions for a number of area companies, including, the Barden Corporation, Pitney Bowes Inc., the Silicon Valley Group, and the Perkin Elmer Corporation. He earned an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering from Norwalk State Technical College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Sacred Heart University.
