Fire Technology Faculty

POSITION:
Fire Technology Faculty/Program Coordinator, Open Rank, (10-Month, Tenure Track Position)

ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE:
August 25, 2017

LOCATION:
Waterbury, Danbury or any other assigned location

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Division Director, the faculty member/Program Coordinator is expected to develop and teach a wide variety of courses in Fire Technology and to perform the duties of a program coordinator. A coordinator’s duties include: collecting and analyzing data, writing reports and performing other activities necessary for the maintenance of the program, and recruiting and retaining students in the Fire Technology program.  The faculty member/Program Coordinator will recommend for selection, oversight and evaluation of program-related faculty.  The faculty member/Program Coordinator will integrate computer technology into curriculum and make real-world connections through appropriate activities. In addition, the faculty member/Program Coordinator will assess student performance and may assume additional responsibilities including student advisement; committee work; participation in special college projects; development of new innovative instructional techniques, course offerings, or programs; and participate in community service consistent with the institutional mission.  Within applicable contractual provisions, teaching faculty and non-teaching professional staff are committed to the operation of the college five days a week, which may include evenings, Saturdays or Sundays.

MINIMUM SALARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:     

All ranks require a Master’s degree in Fire Technology, Fire Science or other related discipline and four years college teaching experience, or eight years work –related experience, or a combination of 2 years teaching experience and 4 years work- related experience.

 

Assistant Professor              $56,298 annual approximate           see above

Associate Professor             $63,592 annual approximate           depending on background and experience

Professor                              $72,981 annual approximate           depending on background and experience
